Application still under process?

I submitted my application almost a year ago. Why is it taking so long ?

Hi Nimue, it's my understanding that due to a problem with the greeter selection system the greeter project is on hold since January - they've not been processing applications for greeters since then.

That's nutty. Can't some of the approved greeters help with processing applications somehow?

LL could subcontract in-world folks for Linden dollars to take on menial tasks like application processing. There is a lot of talent in world, a significant portion of it managerial. Surely there is some way to process applications faster that wouldn't be too difficult or costly.

It appears that there is a hold on new greeters. Or what ever the case might be....

The problem isn't that they don't have the resource to process the applications, it is that the system for letting a new resident contact a greeter is totally borked

So.... at the moment, the only way for a greeter to greet is for them to sit on help island full time holding up a placard saying "Will greet for food" or some such. *grin*

Until they can get the greeter picker system to work, there is simply no real point in adding more greeters


OK, so it is possible for mentors to holler for a greeter on teh mentor channel, but that only works if someone is both, and is either free, or can holler on the greeter channel for us, but it isn't a good solution.

Doing alot of tht inworld.......always finding lost and totally confused newbies......
Greeters seem to be doing a hell of alot of work these days....

There seems to be a little confusion about the Greeters and Mentors....... Some mentors believes Greeters are nothing more then host for newbies runnign around the sl ( knowing nothing about how the game works. Where mentors ( well some are ) acting like they are it and are the all mighty techies greeters are worthless. Well I hold both ranks and i am very good at what i do. And so are the ( most ) of the others greeters. Gesh..........


But we need this greeters calling system UP ASAP..........The summer is coming and we are going to get a explosion of newbies...........Its going to be a LONG and hard summer for us greeters.
