As you may have probably been reading here, and most likely exchanging ideas in-world as well, there has been some demand of exchanging ideas, tips, information, notecards with guides, freebie packs and "newbie kits", in order to better help out the new residents that pop in. I suggest that we get together in-world in order to exchange that information among ourselves more easily. Also, perhaps we could use this opportunity to get people from the different groups to uniformize their information and data, and, if people are willing, see how we can organize ourselves better (although we may postpone that to a future meeting). http://secondlife.com/events/event.php?id=81144&date=1125853200(ie, Sunday, September 4th, 8:00 AM) Suggestions for things to discuss/information to exchange are most welcome And I hope to post a log of the gathering here as well, and eventually do further informal gatherings - although not too many, or else people won't have time for doing their volunteering (sorry for crossposting this on the SL Mentor forum as well)

Good point Well, don't be harsh on poor Jeska. Like all the members of the Community Group, they're terribly understaffed and working on too many things at the same time... I'm sure she'll host a few "formal" meetings again as soon as she manages to catch a breather, sleep over 4 hours on one day, and has the opportunity to be in-world for an hour with us. I mean, yesterday someone told me that she didn't know that Pathfinder only worked part-time at Linden Lab! That's how you see these poor guys have been working In the mean time, we have around 500 volunteers or so doing an excellent job to "fill in" in all areas that we're allowed to... and I think we should take that opportunity to do some "preparation work" on our own, and take some time to exchange ideas to present them to Jeska for her next meeting. I hope I'm not sounding too "business-like" (hehe), but better preparation makes for shorter and more productive meetings and keeps us focused on the important items. So, nothing like talking a bit among ourselves - as well as here on the forums - and be prepared to give our feedback in an orderly manner when we're asked. It can't hurt. And in the mean time, we'll be having some fun throwing notecards with guides & Greeter kits at each other

Please apologise me for being stupid. The event was correctly scheduled for 10 AM today, but for some reason, I posted it for 8 AM Sorry!!! I'll be still holding it at 10 AM today, if you wish to come over in an hour or so.

Mailing list created
09-04-2005 17:17
As suggested in the meeting, I've set up a mailing list with Yahoogroups, called sl_volunteers@yahoogroups.com, where we can continue the very interesting exchange of suggestions and ideas we started this Sunday. The list is open for anybody to join.
Also, I have kept a log, so I can extract the best ideas and try to post them here as well.
