Hi friends,
I have one big doubt .Am a premium accountant and also am having own land in second life virtual world. Now I need import graphical buildings in my onw land. But am not gonna use any Build tool which is already provided inbuild in secondlife environment.Instead of that am gonna use MAYA or 3DSMAX to build a graphical buildings. Here my doubt is , how can i import that graphical building in secondlife`s land. That MAYA building files is in form of MB format and 3DS MAX files is in the form of 3DS format. Can I import that two files in my land or tell me which one is the suitable file format. And if there is any plugins or convertors are available to do that tell me. If that all are not possible tell me other way to import graphical buildings. And also tell me what is the supported format file in secondlife.

Thanks for your visit.

Carbonon,

The short answer is, "you can't". 3D programs like Maya and 3DS Max use polygons. SL uses geometric primitives. They are two different and incompatible systems.

There ARE ways to convert a polygon mesh into individual prims and import a 3D object. However, they are buggy and cumbersome. And even when they work, they result in objects with a very high prim count...you had better have a very large, very empty piece of land to rez something like this.

My advice: Learn to use the SL build tools.
