Hi all. Ten minutes into my Second Life, and already I'm a bit confused. Here's what happened:
I met a person, we spoke for a bit, they invited me to be a friend. I accepted, and returned the gesture.
They then asked me my name; I understood that they were asking my real name, and, perhaps foolishly, I replied.
They then walked away and vanished, and are no longer in my 'friends' box.
Did I violate a TOS rule, or commit a faux pas? Neither of us said anything objectionable. I'm just confused.
Thanks!

I won't sweat it too much. But not smart to give you real name out. Not a TOS volition unless the name you give out is not yours but someone else real name. You should still have the calling card for the person that was your friend. Abuse report them encase they do something nasty with your name.

From: Destiny Niles Abuse report them encase they do something nasty with your name. I'm pretty sure abuse reports should only be filed against people who have actually done something wrong.

Thanks for the replies. I'll be more careful in the future.
Their name and info vanished from my "friends" area as they walked away. That's why I thought I'd committed some horrible Second Life crime; it seemed they suddenly wanted absolutely nothing to do with me.
I'll write it off as an odd encounter and jump back in, then. Thanks again for your time!
