I understand you can take your SL$ and turn this into RL$ Can someone help me understand how that works. What the value is of SL$ vs. RL$ (USD)?
I would like to earn SL$...buy land...sell land...earn and turn it into RL$. Also, I've just become employed in SL. I've been paid SL$ and will continue to be. Is this also money that can be turned into RL$?

On the very front page of the SL website there is an option to BUY lindens and an option to SELL lindens. So yeah, you can sell your lindens for cold hard cash.

Yes, you can sell your L$ for real money. As of this writing, the official exchange rate on the SL web site is L$285 = 1 USD. There are other exchanges inworld. You would have to shop around to get the best rate on the day you want to sell. As you can see, wages in SL are very low compared to spending the same amount of time working at a FL job--but much more fun!  Some people have become famous for making a lot of real-world money in SL. Most people don't get rich at it. But it can be a lot of fun, and very educational, to try. Good luck, I hope you're the next one to make your real-world fortune in SL! |
