Hi, I like to activate a second avatar on my acount. I read somewhere this neads a onetime payment of about 9 USD. But when ceating a second acount with identical information as in my first one I'm never asked to make this payment. I'have heard about LL cancelling even first acounts if they think somebody is running an illegal second avi. So I don't like to use the activation code for this reason. A post to Linden support is unanswered for weeks now. So can I get some help here?

Hm, which information do you mean?Emailsettings?billinginformation? May you need no billinginformation for your second avi, cause you could transfer money from your first to your second^^
For the Emailsettings you could create a second Emailaccount for it without any cost for it.Would be the simplest way if you dont like to use the same Emailadress.
The same billinginformation will not work for it. Therefore you should use a second one, may create a second paypalaccount for it.But as i said, you dont need it really.

Well, thanks for the help. But I tried already with a second mail adress and still I'm not asked for payment. And the same source saying acounts being quite easily being cancelled for misuse of this feature says that the mail adress has to be the same as for the first avi.
I would only be confident in using the second avi if Linden asks me for the payment before. But this never happens. So there must still something be wrong with all this. I tried hard, but I didn't find a howto on the Linden pages.

they did away with the charge for a second av just use a different email and same credit card info and your fine
thats what i did and numerous others have done since they did away with that charge

I created a third avatar and never got the question either so I emailed them to be on the safe side. I told them that I never got the question if I had avatars before and thus they hadn't billed me. I got a reply that they'd fix it and bill me the same night and they did. The strange thing is that it still says "no payment info on file" in her profile although I payed.
It's also strange that they did bill me if it's like you said, that they did away with the fee. They could have informed me if that's the case. Now I really don't know what to do. It's not funny to walk around with "no payment info on file" when I actually payed and they have all payment info on file. If they really did away with the fee I'd like to have my 9,95 fee back. When I check the membership plans now it says that first basic is free and additional basic isn't. I have two premium accounts before, this one and one more. The third account that I created the other day (a basic one) and that I mentioned above, should it be billed or not then? Anyway, they billed it but it still says "no payment info" in the profile. It's all very strange, I think.
