Group restoration

Hello. I am not sure if this is the right place to post this but I looked everywhere and did not see anything referring to this.

I created a group and was yet inviting people to join. This was less than a week ago. Today when I opened SL it gave me Group banned because it had less than 2 people. Is there a way to restore the group? I had already paid 100 Lindens to create it and tried to recreate it again but it said 'cannot create group because it exists'.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Sorry, but I think you need to come up with a new group name and cough up another L$ 100. Groups get auto-deleted after a few days when they only have one member. And even when deleted, a group name stays in use. Any new group needs to choose a different name.

Tip: Next time have an alt join the group immediately after creation. Then it's safe.

Thanks Rick. I appreciate your response. Too bad. Just another question: I created the group to have that hovering text above my head with the name I want [besides my name]. Is this the only way to do that or is there another way?
Thanks

Exactly so. The title above your name in the hovering window is defined by the group configuration: Whatever has been assigned as a title to the particular role within the group.

You might be content with an attachment that uses llSetText to display text above your head.

Therefore I have given your one. There's a notecard in the folder with instructions. Not quite the same as group text, but cheaper and doesn't need a group.

Folks that need a group member to keep a group going can probably get someone to join just by asking around a bit.
