I am renting land and the land is in my name. I don't know how to start a group so I can get the TV and radio to work plus to have someone in my group to be able to kick out or ban people who are not suppose to be there or are trouble makers, to also be able to put things in the house or on the land. If someone can contact me when I'm in SL then that would be great as I want to do it right. Thanks again for all your help...Arael

starting a group costs 100 l$ and groups with less than 2 members get deleted.
Group permissions for group owned land can be tricky.
Group members get titles and titles have privileges, sometimes poorly translated or barely explained.

When "deeding MAINLAND land to a group" that group must have enough "unused group land".
"free group land" is created by deeding "unused land" of a group member to a group.
Parcel owner can "deed land" while "deeding own land to group".

If you are renting land, the Landlord should have a group set up that you can join, and he should invite your boyfriend to join as well. Since the landlord owns the land, he must assign the land to his group.

Once you are in the landlord's group, you need to have that group "active" - it's a button on the Communicate window, under the Groups tab. Highlight that group, then click "activate." Then you can make changes to the media settings (TV, radio, etc.)

So get on your landlord and make him invite you to his land group.
