The Live Help group was quietly disbanded (last night as far as I can tell) without notice. While useless, it was a group I fondly kept as a memento and I know a few other (ex-)helpers felt much the same way.

I wasn't a Helper for all that long, but I saw quite a lot of people sacrifice a great deal of personal time trying to help established residents and on the whole do an incredible amount of good regardless of whether it was appreciated by those helped or not, especially that last week where we were left to fend for our own with Lindens having already left the proverbial building.

*hugs for the other helpers* :(

well lets includse those that gave countless ours ( like myself ) in the mentors and greeters as well. In the early days it was only a handful of us doing the work. But like everything else time moves on and we are forgotten. If not for people like us the system it self would not be what it is today............

You don't even make sense. If you have something to say about your group go start your own thread. This one was about Live Helpers.

Just a friendly reminder, things move much more smoothly when we are civil to each other.

I did get a (quick) response from a VTeam Linden about why the group was disbanded, and I do understand the reason behind it, but I (and others too probably) still would have a preferred a heads-up or some other solution :(. *sighs*

Edited my original post to remove the intial strong emotion.

Should have expected it...

Well Kitty, should we have been surprised that what we were told does not fit the reality? Yet again, they've let us down. :(

And I'm afraid I have to agree with Ingrid on this one, unless you were part of the Live Help group and took part on a regular basis you couldn't possibly know what it entailed. There was, and is, no comparison between live help and mentor groups. They were two entirely different animals. Take it elsewhere.

I am very sad to lose my association with the Live Help group, even though it was defunct it was a cherished memory. (One which we were assured we would always have)

Well near the end of Live Helper it was more of a who`s butt you know and kiss that got you in the groups. Thats why it was so fouledup and useless. But years before it was very very useful.

This thread was started by Kitty in Memorium of the Live Help group. I understand that you're still extremely bitter over having your Live Help application denied. Your comments are unfair regardless - and come at an extremely inappropriate time.

I'd think that even in Japan, urinating on someone's gravestone is considered pretty tasteless. Of course, I'm not Japanese - and I don't pretend to know your culture. Just like you pretending to understand the Live Help group when you never served there doesn't accomplish much either.
