Hi, I'm new and would like to purchase a small piece of land. I went to the land auction and am interested in bidding to "reserve" some land. What exactly does this mean? What size is this reserved piece of land? It doesn't seem like I could be purchasing an entire "square" for $30.00 or so. After I win an auction, have I bought land? When buying land and there's something on it, how do I remove it? Do people ever lower the price of their land from what's posted and can buyers/sellers negotiate a listed price for land? Should I be looking for "first land" or "reserving land" at an auction? There's probably a primer out there. HELP! Many thanks! Three days in and I am hooked like a hungry mackerel!

Hey Tristan,

Let me see if I can help you...

Your Question:
I went to the land auction and am interested in bidding to "reserve" some land. What exactly does this mean? What size is this reserved piece of land?

Reservations are for Islands or Mainland Sims I believe, that's a full 65,536 sq m. That means you want the full sim in the future and wish to 'reserve' a space on the map. Islands are priced at US$1,675 for 65,536 square meters (about 16 acres). Monthly land fees for maintenance are US$295.

Your Question:
After I win an auction, have I bought land? When buying land and there's something on it, how do I remove it?

Yes if you win an auction the land is yours. After purchase and you redeem the land there's options in the about land tab that will let you return all the items that were/are left on the land.

Your Question:
Do people ever lower the price of their land from what's posted and can buyers/sellers negotiate a listed price for land? Should I be looking for "first land" or "reserving land" at an auction?

Yes, at times if you watch they do...but just like one I was hoping would lower someone else came in and bought it :(. So you have to decide just how bad you want it, and if you are willing to pay their price. They do negotiate at times, so it never hurts to ask :)

You'll want first land :) it's only L$500 and you can eventually sell it at a good profit to help you better obtain a larger parcel, or add onto that one if others are selling around you.

Hope this helps :)
