There's no flashing arrow! There's a blue arrow right next to the phrase 'click the flashing arrow to continue' but it's not flashing and clicking it doesn't change a thing. Is there a command on the keyboard I can use to move forward in the tutorial?!

Hi Opal!
If you're still plowing through the Orientation Island tutorials, don't get too hung up on the tutorial display on your screen. You might not be able to fill in all the "puzzle pieces", especially since the third statue in the Communication path is usually broken, and won't talk to you.
Don't worry, though...you don't need to complete the puzzle to "graduate". It's just there as a guide for you. When you've finished the tutorials, go to the central plaza and click the Help Island sign. It will give you a landmark window that you can use to teleport to Help Island, where you can get stuff at the Freebie Store, learn to open a "boxed item", and practice with the building and editing tools.
From there, you can exit to the main grid and the rest of Second Life. Have fun!

There aren't any Linden operated Orientation Islands anymore.
I'm not sure of the status of the flashing arrows.

Suezanne is right.
Maybe you started on Orientation Island just before Linden Lab closed them down. You should now be on a different island, "Help Island". If you see signs for a "Sandbox Area", a "Demo Area" and a Freebie Store, that's where you are!
You won't need your OI help display any more. Right click on it and select Detach.
