Please help if anyone knows how to fix this. I had SL on this same laptop3 or 4 months ago, stopped playing so uninstalled it, now I came back, reinstalled, and all sculpties are always just a sphere. It never happened before, and now I have uninstalled/reinstalled 3 times, cleared everything SL off my puter so that there was no trace of SL on it, turned up all my settings (even though it worked fine before on lower ones) and still no good. Was there something new added in my absence that now makes it impossible for them to rez properly on my mediocre puter? Sorry if this has been addressed before, but I couldn't find anything. I really need to see things as they should be, as I am an avid landscaper, and placing the good sculpted items is impossible

i heard someone at the Cartel say last night she had the same problem with the new viewer.
SO perhaps try and alternate viewer.

Hmm....the things that I've created with sculpties always start out as spheres but then they ploop out when everything's done rezzing. Maybe you're not getting a full rez? Dunno if that's the same problem you're having but I know what you're seeing.

That's a general "textures load too slowly" problem, sculpties seem to suffer more than other textures.
If the shapes are important for placement, give the latest beta viewer (preview grid version on the bottom right of the download page) a try. You'll need to do the Shift-Ctrl-G thing on the login page to get to the main grid (Agni). They've tweaked that version so that sculpt maps get handled quickly, but if you are having texture download troubles you may see more gray stuff than usual. Maybe that's an OK compromise to get the job done though.
