I can't figure out how to change my Avatar's appearence. I scrolled through the How-Tos and everything, and it said 'click on you avatar' [as the first step...
Well I can't even find the dang thing...=.=;; I would call my friend since she's the one who got me on this site, but she wont answer her friggin' phone, so I'm in a bit of a predicament here. Anyone willing to help out??

Do you mean to say, you don't see an avatar?  Try going up to task bar and pulling down the one with Appearance and selecting that. Edit-Appearance.

Anyone at all??? I'm seriously getting frustrated...but most of that blame can be placed on my brother [who just so happens to be standing beside me with an irritating frown on his face in yet another attempt to silently throw me off the computer...]
He does that a lot >.>;;
...eep.. Sorry. Umm..which task baR? There are like bazillions of 'em. =.=;;

Top left corner of your screen, pull down the Edit menu and near the bottom select Appearance.
You should get a box with all kinds of options and sliders and stuff.
EDIT: Are you trying to change your forum avatar? That would be Quick Links at the top right, then Edit Avatar on the drop down menu.

o.o Is it on the top left corner of every screen? I swear I know my left from my right, but for all my uber smartness I can't find/see an 'Edit' bar/menu/button anywhere...
--Not my forum avatar..my person thingy avatar.. [I've just registered, so I'm not quite equipped as of now, but that is what they're called, right?]

If something happens and I still can't find the button thingy, I'll just ask my friend at school. ^__^ To change your avatar's appearance in world, right click on your avatar and (right click not left click) and select "appearance" from the pie menu. then a menu will pop up on screen with a whole lot of options from body shape to hairstyle.  If you want to get more advanced about avatar customization, feel free to chat me up in world, sometime.

Anyone willing to help out?? Dear, first you have to download the Second Life Client onto your PC. Then you will need to launch it and log in using your New Name and your password. Once you are logged in you will be able to first create your avitar. It is at the point you can edit it as well. (and later on while in world if you don't like your appearance) First things first - download the Second Life Client. You cannot create your In World Avitar - Out World. Good Luck. Once in if you ever have a question, look me up.

just a quick question

dose anyone have any good books to read to better understand the programing language of SL i have taken classes on BASIC chipmonk and C++ programing and just need a referance book to go to to learn probraming simularaties with the language. i manily need to learn how to intergrate animations into pose balls. any help would be very very apreciatied
