Uh hi, I hope this is the right place.

Ok here's my problem, I just started the game a few days ago, and as such still unclear on a ton of things. I'm trying to figure out how to change my walking animation, but I swear, I can't seem to find the answer anywhere.

I saw an AV the other day in a nice suit and a cool walking animation. Somehow I was also able to here the sound of the boots walking across the ground too. Can someone point me in the right direction to do this as well? Please?

Oh and also trying to find out how to turn off the typing animation. Any help will awesome! Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forums, Dylena! You change your walk by wearing a "walk replacer" or Animation Overrider (AO). Actually, a walk replacer is actually just a very small AO. There are free ones in many freebie places ... let me recommend a few places to get them plus some other useful things:

> Lookup "Lucrezia Lamont" in Search and go to the place in her pics for the newbie kit. It has a walk replacer for men and one for women, I believe, and some very useful other things.

> Try the "Linden Lifestyles" office. Free Jack avatar kit and I believe there's one for women as well. New avatar kits are available at many stores as well ... hmmm ... I would go to Freebie Jeebie's (Wilted Rose's freebie place).

Note that some shoes have walk replacers built in. Try the Free Dove or Gnubies for free shoes that have these. If you are a woman, be sure to get the 3 Sylfie shoe boxes on the little round table at Free Doves!

Footstep noises: these are built into the shoe. There are many shoe stores that sell shoes with these .... I can't tell you where, tho, because I personally avoid them.

Typing animation off ... there is a debug parameter for this which I don't remember, and several little products and freebies that do it as well. Search for "typing animation" in the Advanced Search here in the forums and you'll find threads about it. Know also, that for any one line of text, you can turn off the sound and animation by starting it with /0.

One last thing: you'll get quicker answers to questions like these if you post over in the "Resident Answers" forum!

Detailed instructions on turning off the typing animation can be found in Torley Linden's blog here:

more on footstep sounds:

Some shoes have them built in. But you can get a free one from Nyoko Salome that you can wear with anything.

Hey don't forget to go to Szentasha's Fashions main store, get your voucher for a free outfit. You can choose any outfit in the store and get it for free as long as you are a new player.

Also, Vienna Freebies has really nice items.
