I became a member of Second Life yesterday and it is fasinating.

I'm completely lost though and am looking for some form of manual/written instructions.

I appreciate the in-game assistance; however, in my experience, a lot of the basic questions in a mmorpg are answered in text somewhere - "where" is my question.

Thank you for any responses and I appreciate all those that volunteer their time to help others enhance their experience.

(I haven't found a general help forum yet, if there is one, please direct me to it.)

Your answers were the location you entered the game. Orientation Island and Help Island. Also try the F1 key while in-client.

The help information that comes up when you press F1 while SL is running is available at http://secondlife.com/app/help/index.html .

There is an SL wiki at http://secondlife.com/tiki with a lot of information.

If you have a question that fits well in the special purpose forums like scripting, design,etc., post it there.

If you have a technical problem, like, for example, you can't get the sound to work, the technical forum would be the place.

Any other questions about how to use the program or about SL society or anything else Second Life related can go in the General forum.

If you post in a blatantly wrong forum the moderators may move it to a more logical place. It's not a problem.

Welcome to SL, hope you enjoy it.

I sent you an invitation to the New Citizens group; it's a good place for new SL users to meet people, ask questions, get some free stuff, maybe a little spending lindens, etc.
