I am fairly new and have already created some clothing and some in world buildings using the tools available within second life. I am trying to find out if there is a way to create an offline object not a texture the actual shape. I am unable to make some of the bends and curves I need within the SL tools. Is there a FAQ on this or some tutorial you can point me to.

Look in the menu bar and find "upload 3D object, L$10"... If you find it, please tell me where it is, I've been looking for a year...;)

Seriously, no, you can't import objects in SL.

Believe me, they are made with the tools of SL, cause there is no way to import objects....

Just learn to manipulate your prims... there's a twist parameter in the edit menu, it's also called "torturing prims"...

Maybe a visit to the "tower of primitive" would help you, there are exemples there of what I'm talking about, with complete walk through... That place is a "must see" for all learning builders...
