Since I updated SL, my mini map land turns red then I crash. I could be IM'ing or chatting or doing an activity and all will seem ok except i notice that IM's are no longer coming in and /or I can't move.

What can I do to stop this? It is happening all the time.

i keep my mini map up because it turns red when we crash.. it's how i know i need to relog. Many times before i was in the habit of keeping it up, i had no idea that i had crashed and i would continue to chat away..lol... the map turning red is NOT making you crash, it's just telling you that you crashed. :D

The mini-map turning red is indeed not a "crash", it is however a "network disconnection" from the region you are currently in. If the mini-map goes red, it just means for whatever reason, your computer has lost connection with the region and LL's networks. It can be the fault of one of many variables between your system and LL's networks. Wireless networking is usually most suspect in these cases along with extremely high packet loss/degraded internet connection.

Now if you "Crash", your client ceases to run on your system (ie. crash to desktop), that's a different scenario altogether. Same with if your mini-map goes red, then you crash out of the SL viewer.
