I signed up for LiveHelp about a month ago, I know that it takes along time to get the job (if you get it). However I was wondering if you could give me a rough estimate on how long it will take; I know 6 languages, and I put them down when I sent in my aplication, by the way (if that helps with the estimate).

I have waited for over 6 months to be a Live Helper. I am not sure how long it takes, but its been at least that long for me so far. Actually, its going on month 7. GL with it...

Yeah, I signed up ages ago too and haven't heard back. Glad to see I'm not the only one, though.

I've been waiting for about 6 months too.

A long while ago, I was talking with a Linden about volunteering, and he (she?) said that Live Help applications may take a long while to process. From what I hear in this thread, "a long while" = 6 to 9 months.

I applied to Live Help so long ago I didn't even remember applying. I got an email a few days ago saying I didn't meet the requirements! I'm a year and a half old, clean record, run a sucessful business and own an island, so I don't know what thier requirements are?! I found it funny since a newbie I took under my wing and taught everything to is now a Live Helper. (WTG Phoenix :)) To be honest I was kinda pissed off I was rejected, but it really doesn't matter since I don't have time now anyway.

I first applied over a year ago, but resubmitted my application with more details a few months ago and was finally accepted a few days ago.... so it can take some time. It came as a complete shock to me when it finally happened as I hadn't seen the email I'd been sent (email program was closed), so didn't know anything until Jeska gave me a folder and invited me to the Live Help Group. :D

sl doesn't want and doesn't need new helpers
10-14-2006 09:37
because they don't really care about the service they provide to people

ie telling us to not im live help when servers start to go down
.. what is live help for if not to help people understand what's going on?

I've been a live helper for 2 years and got kicked out without even saying
one word of thank you for my service , just kicked out and ignored
so listen to me guys i don't want to associate myself with any linden enterprises ever again , you shouldn't either before knowing all the facts on their backward policy

Ok so you speak six languages, not sure why you even brought that up since it has nothing
to do with the length of time it takes for them to respond to you're application.

I speak three,ok you beat me by 3 more lol.

by not meeting the requirements, they meant that you sounded to calm prolly and would actually be a help to the SL community, not to mention, you would have manners and have the audacity to treat people who ask for help with respect. not to mention you sound like someone who would keep thier head during a crisis, not snap it off in global.

So dont feel bad Dnel(no insult to your apprentice meant) by not meeting the requirements they are actually saying: im sorry you have manners, and prolly woudl actually help someone out here, so you can't be live help.:)
