Hi, I'm getting really confused about land. Blind faith in LL helped me buy my firstland 512 and I then just bought the 2 next to it, and I figured Id be happy. Unfortunately one of the most popular "adult" clubs is in a skypod on the next plot and now being fed up of people dropping in and thinking my place is an annex, I need to move.
Its a minefield.
I'm after a little advice or the idiots guidebook to land buying. (I know now to avoid lots of green "T"s)
Its difficult enough to find something not on the side of a cliff, but then to try and get something of a relatively regular adds another fun angle. My main boggle is available prims on land.
Some land say "double prim" ?????. And some shows that a number of prims (over 100 in some cases on a 2560m2 plot are apparently being used by the Sim. Or am I misunderstanding?
Shouldn't a 2560m2 plot have 585 prims? and why is it set to 117 per 512 plot? How does the double prim lot happen? Can I buy a 2560 plot from LL which is a sensible shape and will a full complement of prims.........
Apologies if this isn't the correct place to ask this, but as you are the mentor group, I'm hoping that I'll just get "straight down the line" advice.
Many Thanks

Let me suggest that you contact a Dreamland Angel who is paid by Anshe Chung. Unlike the real world in the States, you will not be charged a fee for using them. And the best thing about using a Dreamland Angel is, they will talk to you about land, edcuate you regarding prims and the size plots not only found in Dreamland sims but how things may work on Linden land as well. All this knowledge at no obligation.

Land + Prims = confusion

Hihihi! Buying land and wondering about prims is still something I have to think about! And it's been a few months since I joined SL. But in a nutshell...here's part of my 'SL for confused people' guide! (no ones dumb... so hate dummies books ;p) All Land owned by SL has 117 prims per 512 parcel. So how ever many 512's you own, say 8 in this case for a 4,096 sq m parcel size you would be allowed 936 prims. Those are 'set' amounts and can not be changed per sq m size. If you rent land, the Landlord deems what you will be given, and most Island owners do either toss in extra prims or charge for them. There's pro's and con's about 'renting' land. We say rent, as you pay a fee for using that land... can be called either rent or tier. There's no upfront land purchase price when you rent, so that's a plus. There's tons of minus, and just as many pro's to the land renting. I rented for a while in a place or two...ended up totally screwed so purchased my own Island that I rent out a few spots to help pay my tier fee that I'm charged on owning the island. But in having rented, I've learned what I didn't like done to me and have set my guidelines out to follow what would've/could've/should've been done in my instances to make the 'customer' (in those instances was me!) happy or content. Feel free to IM me inworld and I'll be more than happy to help you with anything Wishing you a good day, and a joyous hump day (wednesdays...pfffts -grins-)
