I am so sorry for you.

Best thing to do would be to contact the person who made that baby and ask for a replacement. Decent merchants always help you with a request like that.

The grid is having lots of issues this weekend; I would wait until the problems clear up a bit before I started to worry. The baby may eventually come back on its own, but clearing your cache and relogging a few times often helps when the grid is operating normally.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Bundles of joy are not responsible for sl bugs and therefore will charge me for a replacement

SL is eating babies today.

Avonlea, I am so sorry for your loss!! the same thing happened to my best friend, Hope! We were out shopping last night, and got stuck in a store because SL wouldn't let us teleport. When she logged back in this morning, she was still stuck where she was, but her prim baby was gone. She is absolutely heartbroken, can't get out of that darned store, and doesn't know what to do.

I don't have much money, but I swear if he's not replaced when Linden FINALLY fixes whatever the heck has been wrong with SL ALL WEEKEND, I will replace her baby for her.

It's so irritating to me. We spend IRL money on the things we have in SL. When they just randomly disappear, and you have no recorse to get them back, and especially when it's due to a fault of some kind in the system, that seems really unfair. And then the message telling us there's issues doesn't give any real information, and hasn't been updated in hours. It's so frustrating!

I hardly think that's fair...creators are under absolutely no obligation to replace what LL has lost, and you really have no idea why this particular store chooses not to. For example, was the baby transferable? If so, they have no way of knowing whether the OP might be scamming them, do they? No offense, Avonlea, just looking at it from the seller's point of view. ;) Even if that's not the case, there could be other considerations of which we're unaware. *shrug*

I agree...I don't think it's fair to say the creators are bad because they won't replace items lost to SL bugs and glitches. The babies are transferrable so different people can take care of them. Don't get me wrong...it's not fair for us to lose them, but it wouldn't be fair for business to have replace them for free, either, when it's not their fault.

Just what is Linden's fault? has anyone ever found out? Our fault if we don't pay the tier on time but where does their responsibility (fault) start and finish? Or does it just never start?

Obviously, nothing is their fault. They own everything.

That's pretty much what the TOS says, no joke.

Bopkasen, don't be mean.

It's about lost inventory that LL is doing nothing about. It's their bug issue yet Linden Lab and Mentors have told people to go to the store and speak to the creator for a replacement. Why should creators be made to replace any item that Linden Lab lost? It's their responsibility to reimburse for such loses. It's their fault not creators or content providers out of the goodness of their heart. Customers need to send bills to Linden Lab for lost items due to this bug. When in conversation with Linden Lab employees say this to them.. it's their bug, do the right thing and own up to it and fix it. Don't accept the logic, well go to the creator and maybe they will give you another copy. It's not the creators responsibility to make it right, it's Linden Labs.

Many 'decent' vendors in SL will try to help out because they value their customer base and recognize that a happy customer may just be a future repeat customer. However, that does not mean that they are obligated to do so; they are doing so out of generosity, not responsibility.

It's little more than a complete cop-out by LL to advice people to seek out replacement from a vendor for items lost because of bugs in their system. While it doesn't cost much to give a replacement, it takes up significant time and energy to A) determine if the people is legit, and B) apologize on LL's behalf. For LL to give such irresponsible advice is little more than an attempt on their part to deflect attention away from themselves, and try to absolve themselves of accountability.

On the other side of that coin, it could be said that vendors who (generously) replace the lost items could be contributing to the severity of the issue, by giving LL a way to avoid accountability for their screwups. As harsh as it sounds, there'd be a lot more complaining to LL if a lost item really *did* mean lost.

Avonlea, have you tried logging back in, clearing cache, logging out, logging back since the system kind of came back? I'm able to TP, now, and see my Linden balance, and do searches. Try it and let's see what happens, yeah? If you don't mind, IM me in game if it works. I'd love to share good news with my friend. :o)

Same here i'm afraid, another baby lost to ll. I've submitted a support ticket but assume they'll say it's due to the grid being messed up & there's nothing they can or will do. Looks like i'll have to pay to have it replaced. To whoever said the babies aren't real, get a life, it's the same as a house or whatever you value in your inventory disappearing & I for one don't think it's a 'real' baby, i'm just sick of the inventory losses
