Recently I recieved an email approving my application to be a mentor but the page it directs me to is not found. This is the page with the orientation meetings and times, which is a mandatory meeting.
Plus I know I need to join on of the mentoring groups. But again I'm not sure which one is the offical "Second life/LL labs" one.
So, can someone help a brother out here and let me know.

Whee! I got approved today!
The wiki link worked for me, but my confirmation email was bounced and the long code string they sent to use as a confirmation key is rejected as "invalid" by the volunteers website.
But that's OK. I'm a Mentor now. Well, an Apprentice Mentor. Well, a sort of pre-Apprentice Mentor. I can be calm. I can be patient. Yep. Noooo problem.
/me's foot starts tapping uncontrollably...

Hmm.. "Taps foot" -- How long did it take you to become a mentor? Because these days it takes around a month or less to become a mentor, then another week to go to a class toget out of apprentice.. When I signed up it took 8/9 months

I applied once before and it took so long that I guessed they weren't taking anymore, but I reapplied and got accepted about 2-3 months later (if that) The only thing now is that I have to wait until tomorrow to attend a class due to the timezone differences and ya know...those RL commitments like work

Hi Adam....so pleased I wasn`t the only one struggling. Think it all needs simplyfying. It`s like when you teach kids. You have done it so long you forget whet it is to be a new kid...............you get there in the end though but what a struggle

When I signed up it took 8/9 months I applied nearly five months ago. But the policy's changed recently...at the orientation class, they had a graph showing that over 300 new mentors had been through the class in the last two weeks. It appears that LL have unstuck this long-standing bottleneck. (Oh, and I got on the mailing list, and attended the orientation. I'm a full-fledged Mentor now. )

When I signed up it took 8/9 months It doesn't take that long these days, but mentors are more readily approved... When I signed up it took about 2 months. Now it takes about a week, and then attend an apprentice sesion.
