How to get a mentor?

I'm new and thoroughly confused. I feel like all I see is the welcome area and I've no clue how to get anywhere or really enjoy this game.

Any help appreciated.

An official Mentor? You can usually find a couple hanging out on Help Island Public, in the center area.

Just ask the crowd there (there _will_ be a crowd there) if there's a mentor around..

Miskas, firstly, someone doesn't have to have a Mentor tag to help you, if you are polite and endearing plenty of people will help you i'm sure.

I *am* a mentor, by the way, but that means nothing...as Meade and Sassy point out, lots and lots of residents are glad to help newcomers.
