I think the group should really just be made "no chat whatsoever" and strictly enforced.

People who ask a question get jumped on, people who answer a question get jumped on, if you IM privately you get your nose bitten off and there's far too many things that shouldn't go on the group in the first place.

While the Tao in itself is ok (a "Mission Statement" kind of thing, stating clear guidelines), the enforcement rules are vague, and more dangerous than that, they're arbitrary (it depends on the person doing the enforcement). I definitely support having clear guidelines (which we have), but I would also require clear enforcement rules (which we don't).

No chat? Then this group would die like all other groups with no chat.
