I joined SL yesterday and shoertly after entering, the server was shut down. Where do I go to get basic help starting off, mentoring etc?

Hiya
I'd recommend going to NCI in the sim Kuula. There are people there that can help as well as freebies and landmarks to other places to learn about SL. Just enter Kuula on the map, its left of the road.

There is also a Help Island Public and an Orientation Island Public. You can search for them using the MAP button at the bottom of your screen.
