I've volunteered to be both live help and a mentor. I've applied in the past, and I also applied just last month. I've been in SL since January 2004. I'm SL-savvy, a builder, scripter, artist, among other things. I'm also very mature.
Each day there's an influx of new people who just stand around, cause trouble, and ask question after question...after question that goes un-answered. Obviously, we don't have enough mentors or help to cover the user-base but, at the same time a volunteer request can go un-answered for a month.
I don't get it.
LL talks about us having to police up ourselves since hundreds of who knows how many reports or user questions go un-answered every day. Yes, I know they have a big job.
But, at the same time they give us the tools to do it, but don't implement those tools.
That's what the mentor/livehelp programs are for. They should make it work.
