Hello - I'm very new to scripting and the mentoring I require will be more teaching and actual script writing than would be fair to ask for free. Please IM me in game with what your hourly rate would be for scripting tutoring and writing scripts.

My immediate need is for a simple script that moves an object horizontally, then rotates 90 degrees on the y-axis, then moves up (picture a box being dragged by a rope and then lifted up - it isn't a vehicle, just needs to move on its own when told to).

If anyone can point me to simple examples that might help too that would be great. I have modified the sliding door script with some success (but i think it has more meat to it than i need), and getting it to rotate and continue up has tapped out my skill level.

Please respond if you have time to work on this asap (sometime today - Monday the 19th). IM Kim Ludd or Katherine Mullen

Thanks!

forgive the crossposting, I wasn't sure where best to put it

Kim, You might try posting this in the Scripting forum. They are very good at giving help and suggestions. I once needed a simple color changing script and I got three or four examples for scripters, after posting there.

Thanks, I have posted there too. My deadline is more flexible than I thought, but I could use help as soon as possible if anyone has time.

Kim, I'm leaving on vacation, but if this box is to stay in one local (as opposed to being an item for sale), then use llGetRot and llGetPos when you put the item in position by hand, and then use the values returned by those functions in your script. That is the easiest way to figure out a rotation and position.
