The Academy of Second Learning is expanding and hiring top-notch teachers to join our team!

If you have the ability and commitment to teach analytically, develop new curriculum, prepare your classes meticulously, and inspire students by giving them the tools to learn more, the Academy of Second Learning may be the place for you.

ASL instructors enjoy teaching, learning, and growing in a dynamic, live classroom setting, and take pride in their teaching. We have a passion for excellence.

Previous experience teaching adults either in real life or Second Life is welcome, but not mandatory. Our faculty members share their knowledge and experience with each other. We outfit our staff with basic teaching aids and provide training and assistance with course development and supplies. We pay our instructors.

Come join us at the Academy of Second Learning.

ASL - Taking you to the next level!

About ASL:
The Academy of Second Learning was founded in early 2006 by some of the most experienced SL educators, and is committed to offering high-quality live education to the SL community at no charge to students. We have grown to two campuses: the main campus at Eson http://slurl.com/secondlife/Eson/32/162/351 and our second campus at Thomson http://slurl.com/secondlife/Thomson/163/90/35. ASL is sponsored in large part by Thomson NETg and Colorado Technical University.

How To Apply:
* First, drop in and take a class or two at ASL. All our classes are free.
* Next, fill out the ASL Teacher Application Form. Applications are available from the application sign and ASL banner at the Academy of Second Learning, in-world at http://slurl.com/secondlife/Eson/32/162/351.
* Approved applicants will then be asked to develop curriculum for 2 new courses. Teacher Training and Mentoring will be offered to help applicants prepare.
* After curriculum approval, applicants will be evaluated by faculty in a live teaching situation to determine readiness. Teachers-in-training will be paid a training stipend of 250$L an hour for these classes.
* Successful applicants will be hired and eligible for a teaching stipend from 500$L up to 1750$L an hour for classes taught.
