Are you interested in how Second Life can be used in higher education? Echinacea Wallaby, a real-life instructional designer, and Katherine Mullen, a real-life instructional technologist and graphics specialist, will be making a presentation on their use of SL at their universities. In addition to discussing their current work and future plans, they will talk about Professor Radiks, a real-life computing sciences professor, who used SL in her course to explore the role of computers in society last winter.
Plan to arrive early to meet the other people in our new group (RL Work in SL) who are interested in using SL in their RL work. And, plan to stay late as I expect Echi and Katherine will give us much to discuss with each other.

oh no, I just read this announcment right now (too late) and I am very sorry that I couldn't attend. Is there any website where I can get more information? Echinacea Wallaby has a chat history of their presentation. It was an awesome presentation attended by about 30 ppl. People hung around for more than an hour talking about it afterwards. Just IM her for a copy of it. So far, our group has been having monthly presentations. Last month, Gwyneth Llewelyn and Moon Adamant made a presentation called "c-Learning - Edutainment in Second Life". Next month, FlipperPA will be talking about how they use Second Life for training at his company. Echi is working with Flip on the date/time/location. We'll announce future events in this forum, but we also let our group members know about them.
