No idea if this is possible...

Today I was chatting in-game with a user that hadn't been here for long. I was helping them with some SL basics and thought of some of the things on Help Island that he really needed to see and get his hands on.

But, he couldn't go there, and I couldn't TP him there (we tried).

I would like to suggest, if possible, that Live Helpers with their tags on be able to offer TP's to people to bring them to Help Island. It would have made my teaching time a lot more efficient and the user could really have benefitted from the content there.

I too have been frustrated in trying to get new residents to Help Island. Often they need to go back for a refresher when they've chosen not to go there at all. I have often wished for the ability to tp them there.

There is however, a recreation of Orientation Island you can take them to that is very helpful. I can't get in world at the moment to give you coordinates, but a search in Find for Orientation should turn it up.

Why Live Helpers, and not mentors, greeters, or instructors?

Well, only cause I'm ony a Live Helper and don't care about the rest.

LOL -- When I said Live Helper, I meant all volunteers.

I can see problems with this, the idea of the entry islands seems to be limited access and access by Linden control.

I'm told there are 400 mentors, I don't know how many more in the other groups - this is a pretty large chunk of the populace to allow access authority to if the goal is limited access.

Troublemaker and overzealous salesperson would have access by asking a volunteer buddy to let them in, or by slipping somebody a few bucks, or by joining the group.

What are the resources on Help Island that aren't available somewhere else?

Well, then maybe my original suggestion was correct. Live helpers are monitoring the live help lines all the time, and sometimes it would be more efficient to TP them into the help island for a refresher.

Or, even better I admit, have ALL the help island "help stations" on the main grid somewhere, on some of the vast acres of unused Linden land.

That's at least twice in 48 hours I get no response from Live Help.

Sorry, Suzanne. I can't speak for everyone in Live Help as I've only been one for about two weeks now.

But, your question intrigues me because I just helped someone yesterday who swore her event, or any event, was not listed. I walked her through the steps to see her event listing, and others, and she said her list was bare.

Now it was odd, because I saw all the events. I could even see this person's event listed. She was worried no one would come if no one could see it, as it was getting close to her event time. As we were chatting though, people started to come to her event; she asked if they could see her event in the event list and they said yes.

So... something is definately up with the event listings. It wasn't a fluke. I think a bug report or an IM to a Linden would be more in-line than a live help session, since we are literally powerless to fix anything like that.

I've found, sometimes, I can't see the "second page" or further of the events list. I can kinda-sorta fix it by clicking or unclicking the "show mature" box which will show me the proper list.

Relogging fixes it, so I figure it's just packet loss while initially downloading the events list...

I'm surprised Live Helpers are allowed on the Help Island in the first place. I thought the original plan was to only allow mentors, and greeters after the initial roll-out.

I had a brain malfunction while trying to remember Travis's last name (the Shelter owner), and couldn't find Shelter in the places list while trying to look it up.

I then put in Sex as the search term and couldn't find anything.

The Find dialog is definitely borked to the max.

There's "Prev" and "Next" buttons at the bottom if enough events are listed, yes.
