I cant figure out what the problem is:

I have 512mb ram.
I have a new (less than a month old) nvidia card 7 series.
I have a Gateway 507GR which most computer experst desribe as " a very nice system".
Since the latest upgarde, I crash on the average 3 times an hour.
I cant 'move'. My av freezes somtimes for 5 minutes at a time. only to move a foot or so forward, then freezes again. Sometimes it takes 10 minutes to cross a room.
It doesnt matter if I'm wearing 300 prims or zero. Makes no differemce that I can see.

What needs to be done? I dont want to buy memory if that's not going to solve my problem.

This isnt any fun at all, & I dont know what to do. That graphic card was expensive (not relative to others, just to what I like to spend on my system) Its very much like waiting 4-6 minutes for a page to load (or not load at all) with dial up.

Someone has GOT to know what I can do!!!!
Please help!!!

More RAM is definitely needed. 512 MB barely handles SL when taking into account that your OS and other background processes are using that RAM as well.

I went from 1 Gigabyte up to 2 and saw a HUGE leap in performance.

OH! And before you think "I can't afford more RAM!!" HEH! RAM is relatively cheap. Just checked the specs on your machine. You could easily add 1 Gig of RAM for about $62 (depending where you go).

As the other post pointed out your ram is the bare minimum.

However I run another computer as backup with 512mb and a lesser Card than yours and don't have any problems other than it is obviously slower than my main computer.

If not already done, you should make sure you download the latest drivers for your card, check the Nvidia website and check what version of Directx you are running as well.

A lot of problems can begin with out of date drivers, check that your OS is also upto date.
