I am a SL Mentor and yesterday I was called about helping out with settings and I was told by another Mentor Buddy that I am not supppose to be on SL cause of my settings?

So I went to dell today and got told this:

All of those games are beyond what you can do with a 3000, since you are limited to a PCI card (no AGP, no PCI Express). To run them halfway-decently, you're going to need a new system.

I have been on SL for over a yr almost 2 yrs now with no problem and has had no problems running SL at all. now If i have to leave SL cause of this I want all the money I paid into SL for making my AV's look decent at least cause I have maxed my credit card out a couple of times. SO yeah ! I am not happy. Maybe if LL would get off there butts and fix SL they way it should run with out any of us upgrading crap maybe would all would be happy and none of us would be losing money in this game !

Is your computer still running SL?

If so, are you happy with how it's performing?

If so again, then no need to change anything. Just cause someone says your system shouldn't be able to handle it doesn't mean that you need a new computer. If your system is handling SL fine, then by all means, keep it!

If it doesn't run it then sorry, but there are a lot of people in the same boat, and I have to say this again:

SL is a game, modern games aren't made to be played on older computers..it's just how technology works.

My laptop gets a popup window that says it's not supposed to run SL. I ignore it and run it anywayz. I don't like being told what not to do. Especially if it can be done. (=_=)

And settings? What's up with that? Are there illegal settings according to your buddy or something? Set your system to whatever you want... Give good advise to people on their own settings based on their own hardware... ???? ... Profit. (^_^)

If you're having no problem, then keep it, plain and simple. Doesn't matter if it SHOULDNT run it, if it is then awesome!

And yeah, your computer is under the minimum requirements. Too bad that you so obviously can't play it, right?

Keep on truckin, keep that machine happy till it dies, I think it likes you =P

If your looking to upgrade there still some manufactures who make PCI video cards.

Both Diamond and HIS have a Raedon X1550 card with 256 megs of DDR2 ram on them, or if you like Nvidia, XFX makes a Geforce 6200 with 512 megs on it.

any of them would give you a good boost over the Intel video chip set, which wasnt all that good to start with.

The other thing that would help would be to get more ram, I imagine your machine would have old DDR in it and you could easily pick up 2 gigs for well under $100 now...if you have DDR2 its even cheaper.

Those two changes would easily double or triple your frame rate in SL .
