This device is designed to help you manage your property or sandbox by performing two key functions, (limiting the prims each avatar can rez and notification of sim lag) both of which can be turned on and off separately. Many device options are available via the user-friendly menu dialog control system.
First, it allows you to turn on the build feature of your property but still limit the total prims allowed per avatar. If people exceed this limit by a small amount, they are given a warning message asking them to reduce their prim usage. Avatars that exceed the prim limit that you set by more than 10% can be automatically temporarily banned or permanently banned. The device can notify you (and an optional manager) of the violation and adds an entry to the 30 message storage report. The device can also recognize repeat offenders and be set to ban repeat offenders for longer periods of time. The Land Nanny can also report the number of unique daily builders on your property and can send a daily message of your choosing to those who build on your land.
The second main function of this device is to monitor, warn, and report prolonged periods of sim lag. Again, these warning can also be sent to a manager and are also reported via the message storage system. You can set the time dilation threshold under which “lag” is considered to be extreme. If this is detected for three consecutive minutes, a warning is issued. The Land Nanny will also record all of the current builder names during these lag storms. This is convenient if you are away from your property and wish to be informed of potential problems. Daily averages for sim time dilation can also be recorded.
