Warlord is a fun and addicting strategy game played against the artificial intelligence (AI) in it. After a short period of learning it becomes a fast paced game with surprising turn overs.
Since it takes advantage of the latest Second Life features in order to use only 9 prims, a SL viewer version 1.21 or later is needed to play the game. The game has a feature that detects an incompatible viewer and returns the money.
It is extremely low lag in stand by. My measurements showed only 0.006-0.007 ms script time while not played (in RezzMe Sandbox), which is excellent for a game.
It is easy to set up and play but the variety of settings and play situations is impressive.
The player chooses the buy in so the same machine can be played by high rollers and micro stake players alike. The owner sets a maximum prize though. The game calculates the maximum buy in so that the maximum prize can't be overrun and returns partially to the player the excessive buy ins.
There are two medieval armies which fight each other. Each army has five units selected randomly for each battle.
The three types of units in the game are cavalry, archers and spearmen.
If the player won the battle the prize to be awarded is calculated by applying a multiplier to the buy in. The multipliers are set by the owner of the game and depend on the number of units left in player's army. The multiplier system allows owners to adapt the prize structure to their preferences.
If the prize were under or equal to the maximum buy in the player gets the choice to reinvest the prize and start a new battle or to cash the prize. If it were bigger the player gets paied instantly.
There are at least 5 skills which make the difference between players' results in the long run:
-dinamical estimation of the battle situations;
-ability to engage in advantageous fights and to avoid disadvantageous fights;
-learning to anticipate AI's moves;
-proper money management;
-choosing a machine with settings according to player's goals and preferences.
The battles don't have a mechanical course, spectacular turn overs are always possible, adding spice to the gameplay.
The colors of the game's skin, banners and diplays can be set by the owner.
