Publisher FAQ
Whats the difference between a Sellable or Demo Album?
A sellable album is just that, you can mod it, sell it, give it away - the album is playable by the owner only.
A Demo album is set for anyone to access and play - perfect for instore displays.
Do i need a special vendor to sell my music?
No - you can sell your albums through any of the Second Life Vendor systems - Hippo, Palen, Apez, JEVN or any of the numerous 3rd party scripts, if you can rez a plywood box, you can sell your music to whoever you wish at whatever price you decide on. If you need advice on Second Life vendors feel free to get in touch.
Is this a commission based system
Absolutely not - you keep all the monies earned from your sales - unless of course your a overly generous multi-millionaire of course, in which case we will point you in the direction of our favorite kids charity.
We are musicians - not darned web programmers
Relax - The Publisher is a snap to use - if you can use Google, you can use this
My designer is a control freak...
We understand that your designer needs full artistic control. Unlike other systems, Hermes gives your designer complete control over the packaging of your music. In addition the workbench allows you to bundle goodies like posters, t-shirts and other giveaways with your album.
We are a record label - can I make multiple albums to sell?
Of course - the system allows unlimited albums and multiple track lists, simply purchase blank discs as you need them
Is my music protected?
The truth is - if someone is determined to steal music, they will do their best to find a way, its an arms race. However, our system makes if very difficult for the casual thief to get their hands on your goods. Our security is constantly being assessed and improved so each new software release you can be assured of up-to-date protection.
Can we have a custom Player for our tunes?
Of course, in addition to our 8 existing models we offer a discuss & design service. This service keeps you informed and updated throughout the process until you are happy with your custom Mp3 player.
