Forget capped IM - read your messages outside the grid
This new messaging script works grid-independent. It's currently tested for SL, SL-Beta Grid, osgrid, Legend City Online and Reaction Grid (more grids will be added soon).
NEW: now added metropolis, The New World and Avatar Hangout. If you need it tested and deployed on another grid, just contact me and I'll try it there. Unfortunately the tools does not work on OpenLife Grid yet because you cannot run scripts there.
The usage is easy: Rez or wear the registration object and touch it, it will register your avatar to the web service and gives you your password and login url where you will find your messages. This is all you need to register your avatar to the service.
Sending a message: Rez the message object in your shop. The customer can touch it and will get a message like: Leave a message in chat channel 200 like this:
/200 this is my message
The message will be stored in a web database and you can read it on the web page without logging in to the 3D-world. Messages will not be capped, so you can receive as many as you like. On the web site you will see how many messages arrived since your last login and you can also access older messages if needed (anyway, I will add an auto-delete for messages older than 30 days later to preserve database space).
At the web site you can link your account to any other avatar on any grid that is supported by the system. You can even link it with your alt avatar in SL, so that you have a central page to read all messages sent to you or your alt. All you need is the avatar name, the password and the grid name.

You need a copy of the objects in each grid where you want to use them. Please leave a message with your avatar name and the grid where you need it. I 'll send them to you as soon as I'm online in the different grids. You can use the big telephone-receiver that hangs at the entry of my main store or you can send me a notecard (don't IM me, cause IMs may get capped Smile )
