HRN Ticket System

The HRN Ticket System allows you to limit the access to your land, it will kick avatars off your land in various situations. For an avatar to be able to stay on your land he or she must:

- Make a payment to stay.
OR
- Have a ticket given by the owner.
OR
- Be on the VIP list of the device.

If an avatar falls within one of the above situations he or she will be allowed to stay on your land. This is useful to limit access to an event, where you may sell tickets to the event for example, or to regularly charge a certain L$ amount for a service you may be offering on your land, like for example a cinema, theatre, race track, the examples are limitless.

HRN TICKET SYSTEM SETUP

Once you unpack the items in the box you will see two objects.
One is the HRN Ticket System, the other is the HRN Configurable Ticket.

1- Start by placing the HRN Ticket System at it's permanent location and at about 6 meters in height. If you would like the device to cover an entire Sim the device should be placed at the centre of the Sim.

2- Click on the HRN Configurable Ticket object and then take it in to your inventory. The ticket is configurable, and will allow you to change it's characteristics in the description field of the object.
The HRN Configurable Ticket will be explained later on in this note card.

The first part of the setup is complete.

Reset- Will allow you to reset the device.

Configure- Will allow you to configure various settings on the device. Following the Configure menu you will find the following buttons:

*Tickets/Payments- When Tickets is clicked, only avatars that have a ticket will be allowed to stay on your land. When Payments is clicked all avatars that do not have a ticket given by the owner, or are not on the VIP list, must pay a certain amount determined by the owner to remain on the land.

*Set Date: If Set Date is clicked the device will become active on the date selected by the owner, by default the device is on every day, and all the time.

*Amount- When clicked will allow the owner to set the amount avatars must pay to remain on the land.

*Ban Period- When clicked allows the owner to set a ban time period for avatars that have been kicked more then once by the system for either not making payment or not having a pass.

*Scan Timer- Refers to the interval between the scans made by the device of all avatars. If Random is on in this menu, the scan time saved will be randomized at + or - 50% making the scan occurrences less predictable.

*Range- When clicked will allow the owner to set the range of influence of the device. If Regional is clicked under the Range menu, and the HRN Ticket System object is placed at the centre of a region, the system should have a range corresponding to the entire region.

*Multi Pay- When clicked will allow the owner to activate multiple payment requests. When this feature is active, the device will request that avatars pay the amount configured by the owner, in the time intervals set under this menu.

HRN Configurable Ticket Help

If you followed the instructions correctly, you should have a full permission object named HRN Configurable Ticket in your inventory (If it happens to say no modify in your inventory do not worry about it).

HRN Configurable Tickets may be given by the owner of the system and be configured in various ways. It is very important that you are careful when you configure the tickets you plan to give, and even more important that you change the permissions correctly before you give them or sell them to other users.

1- To start configuring a ticket to be given or sold to other avatars you must start by taking one HRN Configurable Ticket from your inventory and placing it in world.

2- You must then right click on the ticket and select Edit from the "Pie Menu". If you see a button named "More" please click on that button, and then click on the "General" tab. You should now be able to view the name of the object you are editing, the description of the object and the permissions.

3- You may change the name of the object to whatever you like. As an example, you may choose to name it "Summer Rock Festival Ticket".

4- You may select when the ticket will be valid in the description of the ticket.
By default it will look like this: 01:40,14:50,2007-09-30

The 01:40 in this case is the start time. The ticket will begin to be valid at the time you configure. Be careful to alter the time only and not remove the (,) comas.

The 14:50 in this case is the end time. The ticket will not be valid after this time. Be careful to alter the time only and not remove the (,) comas.

And then you may configure the date 2007-09-30
As you may see the order of information is Year-Month-Day.

*Here are some examples of description configurations:

01:40,14:50,2008-12-30 - This ticket would be valid from 1:40 to 14:50 on the 30th of December of 2008.

01:40,14:50,2008-12-all - This ticket would be valid from 1:40 to 14:50 on every day in December of 2008.

01:40,14:50,2008-all-30 - This ticket would be valid from 1:40 to 14:50 on the 30th of every month in 2008.

01:40,14:50,all-12-30 - This ticket would be valid from 1:40 to 14:50 on the 30th of December of all years.

01:40,all,2008-12-30 - This ticket would be valid from 1:40 to the end of the 30th of December of 2008.

all,14:50,2008-12-30 - This ticket would be valid from all times until 14:50 of the 30th of December of 2008.

all,all,2008-12-all - This ticket would be valid at all times and all days of December of 2008.

The time used by the device is military time. 14:00=2PM 15:00=3PM etc...

5- Once you have changed the name and description of the tickets you want to give or sell in world, you should be very careful about changing the permissions of the object. The permissions you select will determine what the person you give or sell the ticket too an do with the ticket.
At the lower part of the window where you have changed the name and description of your ticket you will see the permissions configuration:

Next owner can:
Modify - Copy - Transfer

We recommend that you never allow the ticket to be modifiable, so make sure that box is unchecked.

You may want the ticket to not be copyable by the person you are giving the ticket too, if this is the case then uncheck the copy field.

If you would like to give or sell a ticket to someone, and make it impossible for that person to transfer (give) it to someone else you should uncheck the transfer field leaving the copy field checked. This person will always have a ticket in there inventory but will not be able to transfer it.

Imagine you have trusted employees or partners and would like them to be able to sell your tickets. You may give that trusted employee or partner a copy and transfer ticket, this will allow them to give or sell tickets for you, as they will be able to transfer the ticket given to them by you, and always have a copy in inventory. Never give away tickets with modify rights to anyone.

6- Once you have changed the name of the ticket, the description, and the permissions you wish the next owner to have close the Edit window. You should then right click on the configured ticket and take it in to your inventory. The ticket should now be ready to give or be sold to other avatars.

7- When giving or selling a ticket to other avatars you should inform them that they must wear the ticket so they may use it on your land. They may do this by right clicking on the ticket in their inventory and selecting Wear from the SL menu.

Note: If you know how to change textures on SL objects feel free to change the textures on the tickets you decide to configure.
