The Trudeau Friendship Sloop - they don't get any saltier than this!

Trudeau Classic Sailing Yachts proudly announces the Friendship Sloop - our take on the combination of seaworthiness and sailpower that was developed in a type of boat built in RL in Friendship, Maine. Originally used to fish offshore on the Georges Banks, these classics have found popularity in RL as small yachts. Her appealing lines - clipper bow, flying jib and staysail, have helped her make the transition from working boat to pleasure boat, keeping this elegant design alive and well. There is an annual Friendship Sloop race in Maine, still drawing quite a few of these classic traditional craft.

Trudeau's Friendship Sloop, using a combination of physical vehicle and avatar attachment, offers the best of both worlds - *realistic* sailing for you and your passengers in a beautifully completely rendered, above and below decks, traditional sailboat. The Friendship Sloop attachment can also be rezzed inworld for display and liveaboard purposes.

Features of the Friendship Sloop include:

-- Can be sailed either solo or in collaboration with a crew.

-- Realistic sailing. Thanks to the ingenious sailing mechanics originally devised by Kanker Greenacre and extensively modified by Jacqueline Trudeau specifically for the Trudeau line of yachts, it *really sails* using the SL wind. Voice or HUD commands trim the sails for optimal performance under sail. Heeling, drifting, in irons... all the sailing fun -- and sometime frustration -- it's in there (dramamine not included).

-- Moving tiller, rudder and helmsperson animations. Hard a-lee is *really* hard a-lee on the Friendship

-- Enterable cabin, via 3 opening hatches, berths with couples lying poses. The cockpit cushions have correct sit orientation scripts, and of course, you'd probably want to add your own poseballs for your preferred belowdecks activities

-- Cabin lantern, touch on/off

-- Richly textured, inside and out, from the finest of virtual nautical materials including white oak framing, cedar hull planking, teak decks, sitka spruce masts and spars, varnished mahogany brightwork and bronze fittings.

-- Customizable. Voice commands to change the hull and sail textures from a selection of traditional nautical color schemes, modifiable script for changing the default camera location and angle. For an additional fee, your boat name and home sim/port of call can be emblazoned on the sternplate.

-- 2 HUDs, both designed with the look and feel of the SL GUI, provide button control for the common boat handling commands and display of environmental conditions. The full featured HUD allows individual control over each sail, allowing the seasoned skipper access to such sailing concepts as wing and wing, reefing (with jib and staysail hoisted), jib backfill, etc. For the novice or lazy (horrors!) skipper, the EZ-Sail HUD controls all sails with a single click!

-- Artificial wind strength and direction commands for overriding the fluky SL winds. SLSF racewind compatibility.

-- Auxiliary motor to power you through those rare occasions when the wind dies down.

-- Accomodations for your crew in custom designed sit animations positioned about the yacht. Yes, of course the poseballs can be hidden

-- Since sim crossings can be unpredictable, copy and modify permissions.

-- Package includes the mooring line piling.

*PLEASE NOTE! To re-emphasize, please understand Friendship is a combination vehicle that is ridden and boat attachment that is worn. When sailing, the boat becomes part of you, just like your prim hair or shoes. You cannot move about the boat when it is underway.
