The I.J. Ginsburg Wimshurst Machine is modeled after the RL electrostatic machine created by British inventor James Wimshurst in the 1880s.

More information regarding the RL Wimshurst Machine and its inventor may be found on the Æthernet here.

To operate, simply touch the hand crank. The two discs will rotate and a spark will be produced. To stop, touch the hand crank again.

The glass door on the front opens on touch for a clear view of the inner workings.

On touching the body of the machine, a notecard somewhat similar to the text here is delivered.

85 prims large (or 'detailed', as I prefer ;-)), the machine itself is copy/mod, so that one may adjust textures or reduce the prim count if one so desires.

A copy of the machine is available for viewing at our store in Caledon on Sea, found next to the vendor.

During SLRFL, the I.J. Ginsburg Wimshurst Machine will only be available at the I.J. Ginsburg Dept. Store located in Caledon on Sea, to be found in a SLRFL vendor there for a donation of L$500.
