Overview:----------------------------------------------------
The 13T Jetskis are your ticket to summer water fun! These work in Linden water, and even somewhat on land. They do not work in prim water. Tinies only! No biggies!
These are Copy/Mod. No transfer.
Note: to drive, right click on the vehicle anywhere BUT the seats. (The nose is a good part to aim for.)
Features:
--handlebars and jet nozzles turn
--water sprays out the back; the faster you go, the bigger the roostertail
--3 seats so you can take friends for a ride
--headlights turn on and off
--locked for owner use, or unlock for your friends to drive
--4 speeds
--3 camera angles
--bounceback turning system
--easy menu system
Controls:----------------------------------------------------
Arrow Keys (or whatever keys you use to walk with!):
these work as you'd expect. forward hits the gas, reverse slows you down until you go backwards. left and right turn.
PgUp/Down (or whatever you use to fly/land):
use these to change gears. up will put you into a higher gear (more power!). down will do just what you expect.
Menu:--------------------------------------------------------
Click the JetSki to bring up the menu. Here are your options:
--Right : use this in the extremely unlikely occurrance that you've ended up upside-down.
--Headlights: toggles headlights on and off.
--Camera: toggles between three different cameras. one is far back, one is medium, and one is right under your chin.
Note: if you have a hard time seeing in the chin camera, click the dashboard to get the menu back and change cameras again.
--UnlockUse (or Lock): unlock for your friends to drive, or lock so only the owner can drive.
--Help: gives you this notecard (I hope it's helping!).
Piloting:-------------------------------------------------------
First, do not rez your Jetski on the bottom of the sea and then hop on. Well, unless you want to shoot out of the water and hit some low-flying planes! The sudden buoyancy will do that.
If you change the forward throttle (on or off) while turning, you will straighten out a moment.
You can turn in place (as unrealistic as that is), in case you need to maneuver in (ie: out of) tight places.
Bounceback Control:
I designed this when I was test-riding snowmobiles. Normally, the left/right controls turn you in the opposite direction when you are going backwards. This was not helpful when trying to make a tight turn and bouncing off the thing you were turning to avoid.
So, the reverse turn controls will ONLY turn you in the opposite direction when you are going backwards AND holding down the back key. If you crash a lot, you'll appreciate this, really!
First gear is pretty sedate, and good for navigating narrow, shallow waterways. Second gear is much faster. Third and Fourth gear are a little nuts.
If, for some strange reason, you are trying to pilot the Jetski over land (perhaps some incosiderate estate manager put an island in your way), use at least gear 3 to be able to move.
If you are trying to jump on ramps, gear 4 is your best bet.
Stopping dead still is a bit tricky. Make sure you are in lowest gear, then apply the throttle in the reverse direction you are going. (ie: back if you are going forward.) Ease off the throttle as you slow down. If you start going back, tap the forward throttle, and vice versa.
You only have to get the Jetski down to a low speed, then take your hands off the controls. The script will recognize that you are trying to stop, and bring you to a standstill. It is a bit hard to do, though.
Customizing:------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Jetski's are modifyable (the scripts/sounds/anims are not), so you can customize yours. There are some limits. For example, you cannot attach any flexi-prims to it, or the physics will not work.
Also, there is a limit of how many prims a vehicle can have. Just make sure you do not have more than 29 prims. You can take off the decal prims (there are three decals and one 13T logo) if you want to add more prims elsewhere. Do not change the invisible prims on the front and back, they keep the Jetski balanced on the water.
If you want to change the decals, you can do so by just changing the texture offsets. For example, if you wanted a pink alligator instead of piranhas, you can with a bit of fiddling. (I'm cheap, I put all the decals on one image :P )
Enjoy!
