The same snowmobiles that have taken the Tiny community by storm (blizzard?) are now available for you... 'normal' folk. ;)
There are three plain designs for full-sized adult avatars, and seven animal "Crittermobiles" for child-sized avatars.
13T Snowmobiles
Overview:-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The 13T Snowmobile line is designed for great winter fun, any time of year -- hey, particle snow doesn't melt!
IMPORTANT: Make sure you are buying the right size for your avatar. Crittermobiles -- snowmobiles with animal faces -- are made for child-sized avatars (3'3" to 4'10").
The plain snowmobiles are made for full-sized adults.
There is a difference in engine power for the different weights the mobiles are expected to handle. If you try to ride a few adults on a kids' mobile, it will go more slowly. (And your feet will probably drag down into the treads!)
Features:
--skis and handlebars turn
--tread rolls backwards and forwards, and shoots out snow
--3 seats so you can take friends for a ride
--headlights turn on and off
--lock for owner use only or unlock it for your friends to drive
--3 speeds
--two-click method to set it upright in case of wipe-outs
--3 camera angles
These are copy-only: no mod and no transfer. Note: if you are an estate manager and want to leave unlocked snowmobiles for your guests, please consider buying a Party Pack. (Or, if you just CAN'T decide on only one!)
They are pretty stable vehicles, but they CAN still wipe out occassionally. It isn't fun unless you end up in a snowbank every once in a while! ;) But it's easy to get straightened out, you don't even have to go into edit mode. Just click for the menu and choose "Right," and you'll be upright in no time.
Note: if you wipe out and are still skidding or sliding slightly, Right will not work. You must come to a complete stop. (I don't know why, that's just how it works.)
Low gear (1) lets you go fairly slowly, so you can navigate small roads, lanes, and dense forests. Two higher gears give you more boost for climbing tough hills or zooming out on straightaways.
The snowmobiles also allow you to turn (albeit slowly) in place, without having to move forward and back. This is great for those tight spots where you don't have room to maneuver. Also note that you *will* skid a bit in long turns. It is best to ease off the gas if you're not turning tightly enough.
There are 3 camera angles to cycle through via the menu.
The first camera is 8 meters back, and gives a good overview in open terrain.
The second is 2 meters back, better for close quarters driving.
The third is in the windshield, if you really like to get into your snowmobiling! Note that it may be hard to see if your head tips forward (or if you go up a steep hill). Just click the dashboard to get the menu again.
Getting Up Hills:
The Snowmobiles can handle pretty steep hills, make sure you crank up the gears. If you have a little trouble going up, try turning left and right to try to "wriggle" up the slope.
If you hit a steep slope from a flat angle, you may be nosed into it with the rear end trying to fly up. In that case, ease off the gas until you come back down.
Little prim edges will kill you in first gear: curbs, uneven pavement, steps... things like that. If you can build up some speed, you will find you can glide over some of these. (Okay, probably not STEPS!)
Enjoy!
