La Bicyclette is proud to offer this incredibly detailed reproduction of Cromwell Dixon's Skycycle. In 1906, the 14 year old (not a typo!) Mr. Dixon constructed this flying machine, its wooden propellor powered by a modified bicycle. He and his mother toured State Fairs throughout the US, where he would tow an American flag to the delight of the crowds below.

Now you too can own a piece of history and tour about SL with or without a (flexi) flag. The pilot, main wheel, gearing and propellor are all animated.

Our version of the Skycycle is worn as an attachment, much like SL horses are. You *do not* have to find an parcel with spare prims and creation permissions to create the vehicle. Simply right click on it in inventory and wear.

Since an attachment vehicle does not count against the parcel, you will experience few of the usual issues vehicles in SL are plagued with. You will not "crash" if you fly overhead a full parcel, sim crossings are much easier and risk free, and the vehicle handles adroitly and easily via standard avatar movement keys. In addition, creation was not constrained by the standard 31 prims a vehicle is permitted, which allows for realistic detail, down to the ties holding the bundled flag.

Comes with an American Flag, Caledonian (land of the Steampunk!) Flag, and No-Flag versions.
