What's New?
* v1.3 - Custom Colours
* v1.2 - Scalable Uppers (previously unreleased)
Version 1.3 of the Saber Boots by Eclectic Randomness, includes 2 major updates in one. Finished a few weeks back, the 1.2 update introduced the scalable uppers. I had JUST released the 1.1 update several days before finishing 1.2, and felt like the 1.2 update might be "too many updates in too short a time". So I held off releasing 1.2, and simply passed a couple of copies to friends for testing.
1.3 introduces custom colours.
This morning I woke up to a very polite IM, lamenting the fact that the boots did not "come in pink". Well, I sat down and did some thinking on the subject, and actually created my first "drop in module" script. This script is a separate entity, and when added to a product, gives it the ability to translate 140 colour names into LSL colour vectors. It also adds the ability to parse hexidecimal colours, and even vector colours. The engine itself is self contained. Send it the name, hex, or vector, and get back a vector. (the latter being a bit redundant, but has it's uses).
What this means to the Saber Boots, is that they now have the ability to use 16.7 Million (or more?) custom colours. Because the parser was developed as a plugin, it means that future ER products ALSO can utilize this functionality with very little effort.
The 1.3 update will be sent automatically to owners of previous versions, the next time they wear their boots. (isn't automation wonderful?)
