Hello this is an unofficial review/report of a visit I had to the Imperial City - Coruscant SWRP in Galactic Core Sim. Now before I start I don’t think my experience there was the norm (at least I hope not). So this is purely an account of my experience there.

I came to the sim to observe the rp and decide what character if any I’d like to play there, mostly this was because I’d read that rp combat was encouraged there rather than just DCS2 shoot’em’up.
I teleported into well very little really and waited wile the shopping mall slowly rezed in, I have a 20mb connection so not sure why it was so laggy there it may have been hi rez textures loading or just problems on my side.
Eventualy I found myself in a mall with some teleporters, I tried these but the teleport pie option did nothing other than me getting a no place to sit message.. Ok slight problem then but not hard to fix it’s a sci fi sim and make small spaceships so I rezed one outside of the mall and used it to drift slowly down being careful not to crash into the bits of buildings that were slowly rezing in until I got down to a lower level and landed on a landing pier, got out of my ship and deleted it. That’s when things started to get pretty pear shaped there were two people close by and one of them used a push weapon (or push force power, something that sent me orbiting and landing on the far side of the sim anyway) on me.
I then got an IM from one of the people who were close by before I got pushed telling me I needed to wear dcs2 to be in the ‘roleplay’ area’s of the sim, I asked him about role-played combat here and was told no DCS2 and ‘if you don’t like it then stay the #### out’ .

Not surprisingly at this point I gave up on this sim completely as somewhere to rp, I did though contact one of the admin’s a Synthos Graves, and tried to let him know what was happening in his sim. It turned out to be a waste of time and after about 10 minutes of increasing petulance form him I said ‘look its your sim and your problem I’m happily out of there. Have a good day.’ At which point he banned me from his sim and muted me (which just confuses me since I didn’t want to go back and certainly didn’t want to continue talking to him) .

I do put my hands up to missing the DCS2 check which I guess would have been at the other end of the tp but I’m personally very disappointed with this sim and wouldn’t recommend it to any roleplayer.

On the positive side it did seem to be fairly well built, at least as much as I saw on my little being orbited flight.

((PS from what I’ve encountered there if any of them read this post I’d expect the threat to fill up with abuse, threats and accusations. Save your breath I won’t respond in kind))

That sim, and its sister sim, Manaan are both bad eggs. A regular rper there uses stuff like 'shoots you in the head, ok youre dead for 24 hours' and claims because its FFC..they can get away with it - except FFC requires both parties, not just his decision. And the admins did nothing about it.

They also see all other imperial groups as 'unofficial' while failing to research other sims. For instance, they refer to Ord Mantell as bad in part because 'it has general grevious.'

No, it doesn't..it has a cyborg a grevious style body (read: grevious avatar) who is a completely different persona. They also complain about being banned 'for speaking the truth' when well.. they didn't read rules, teleported backup in rather than proper rp, and use rounds stated as illegal in the rules.

Manaan and IC's players also complain that Ord Mantells stats arent fair..only 2 have artificially boosted stats, and that does not includethe sim owner/governor. We all startes at the same level and bought stats and abilities, like a stim..

My advice: ignore Manaan and Imperial City. They are jokes.

We are as much nobodies as you, or any of the other admins in Manaan and Imperial City.

I've been roleplaying in the Star Wars sims for almost just as long as I've been playing Second Life, and I will admit that in my opinion, all the Star Wars roleplaying sims that use DCS are ridiculous and completely unfair. Except for the Ord Mantell sim, maybe.
