CROSSPOST FROM RESIDENT ANSWERS. IGNORE IF YOU HAVE READ IT PRIOR.

(it seems to fit in "Games" as well... )

I wanted to throw a bowling themed party for the amusement value of it all.. so I went shopping for bowling alleys. They aren't cheap, but hey, I figured I could rez the thing and have it out for fun value, like I do with my En Garde System.

The best seeming value in SL Bowling alleys was from a company called IRON GAMES, run by a gentleman called IRON PERTH. His Ten Pin Bowling system: http://ironperth.com/phpBB2/product.php?page=bowling

Seems very nice, customizable, with many features. To have more than one strip with other vendors, I'd have to pay 3K more. So I bought it.

Upon rezzing the lane, I discovered that the system defaults to a money making operation, charging 35 Lindens to play and running a prize pot of money for people to win.

I don't want any of that. I wanted to turn all that off. I read the notecard, which gives you some simple vocal commands to set fees and payouts to zero. I followed the instructions to the letter. Nothing happens. I've derezzed and rerezzed, and still nothing happens. I've even tried standing on the listener and shouting the voice commands, and nothing happens.

Shrugging, I contacted the name listed as the creator, who turned out to be a lady who had helped him with texture work and he hadn't removed her name from the ten pin set yet. She seemed pretty frazzled and apparently gets IMs searching for the REAL Creator, Mr. Iron Perth. She did not have a lot of nice things to say about his customer service ethic.

Concerned, I've IM'd Mr. Perth every day for the last week, and tried to drop him notecards (in case his IMs have 'capped'.. heard that one before).. The notecards remain unanswered, the IMs are Iming a brick wall.

I HAVE found his new website, illustrating his products: http://ironperth.com. I thought the Forum, at least, might be a suitable place to ask technical questions. I was astounded to find out that the Forum was installed in early June, and already it has thousands and thousands of porn spam posts and not a single customer question raised or answered, a clear indication that Mr. Perth isn't really paying attention to his forum.

One good outcome of finding Ironperth.com was finding Mr. Perth's email, iron.perth@gmail.com. I have emailed him once, no answer.

If I sound a tad methodical, well, I am. I'm giving Mr. Perth the benefit of the doubt and am trying to contact him for support for his bowling alley product. So far, no response to IMs, no accepting of note cards, no response to emails, no presence in his own company webforum.

As the item costs about what I pay a month in tier fees, I don't consider this a negligible purchase, nor do I consider my frustration ill-founded. The outcome I want is to have a bowling alley where people can play for free-- a refund if I can't have that. I'll be cheerful either way.

What I'm wondering is if anyone out there at all has had ANY experience with this fellow, and is it similar to mine? Since his items are fairly pricey, I imagine feelings would run pretty high.

Thanks for your time.

I had a very similar problem, like, 2 years ago. I bought a bowling alley, and it didnt work, and when I contacted him, I did get a replacement, updated version, but this didnt work properley either. A few IM's went back and forth and by the end of it all I didnt get a working bowling alley or my money back either. Wasnt particularly bothered, but I did resolve not to buy anything from him again. And I haven't.

Sorry Iron - but.. there you go, that is/my experience of buying your products.

i was recently looking for card games on SLexchange and came across his poker game, the reviews and comments there are horrable and it seems iron has not been inworld for quite some time or refuses to help residents. buyer beware on these items
