I am nearing the final stages of a new cardgame for Second Life. As I think about getting paid for my creative efforts, I can think of a couple of ways of getting a return on my work:

1. Charge big $L for the table/game.
2. Rake in a part of each pot.
3. A combination of the above.

I am considering the following model, and would like input from others. I would like to sell the table for a set amount, then keep 1% of all pots. I would then allow the owner to set up a percentage for each pot (defaulting at 4%) to keep for his own. How does this sound? Is it reasonable?

Make a few "versions"

I would say let your buyers decide.
Charge a larger upfront cost for your low or no commission tables and a lower amount or even free version that pays you a larger commission.
I have a friend who has given away tables but they are all over the place and pay his alt a very nice income stream. make sure it doesnt pay your main avi though since that gets tedious at best getting all they "lada lada has paid you messages"
