We are going to continue the daily scrimmages this summer and fall as they have been a big success.
SLHA (SL Hockey Association) is now getting ready for its SIXTH season. Established in 2006, the league continues its tradition of challenging and professional game play. SLHA is run entirely by its dedicated members on a volunteer basis, and it's free to play or watch. In 2008, we have a new, Havok-friendly script, detailed and exciting and the finest inside SL. With even more exciting improvements planned for Season 6, you don't want to miss out! It is very user-friendly and equipment is free.
We invite EVERYONE to come try it out. You do not have to be a hockey pro or a gaming wiz. During the daily scrimmages, players split evenly into 2 teams and face-off in a casual game. Veterans will help you with the equipment. There's information at the rinkside that will tell you how to join the league for regular game play, or you can speak to Jack Belvedere. (Leave me a message if I'm offline).
This fall some of the improvements we have made or are in the process of completing include: improved checking and boost; additional goalie functions; complete automated statistics, easy-to-use HUDs, and much more. The equipment boxes are located at the rink and are free. Equipment will automatically update itself in your inventory when we have made additional improvements or security features.
For season 6, we will have 3 divisions: North American competitive, European competitive, and the Casual division. The competitive division is a group of teams in which stats and standings are kept with a goal of making it all the way to win the final cup with lots of fun along the way. The Casual division is for any player who wants to play but cannot commit to a regular schedule of games for the season.
Join the group SLHA(SL Hockey Association) inside Second Life so you can be kept up to date and notified of events. Make sure you're getting the right group! There's been a couple smaller leagues in SL created following our lead, but you're looking for the SLHA(SL Hockey Association) group.
