This would be AWESOME On second life.
Have a combat system - You can use weapons, and have to wear some sort of Hit Point counter. When you die you cannot move for 30 seconds etc.

I would definitely be interested in this.

Exactly, CTF among two teams and weapon system.

Problem is, we need more people interested in this project....I am very skilled on the art side...characters, textures, and props..but when it comes to coding this its somebody elses job....so basicly a team would do.

i LOVE ctf!

but, in sl i would consider doing a more traditional ctf, not a doom/quake/etc style deathmatch ctf. sl just really isnt made to be an fps.

i used to have a turn-based freeware one (2d), and it used a sort of tackle system. if two players met up, they'd fight, and the loser had to go to 'jail' (at the center of the playfield) for a certain number of rounds. whoever won the fight would have a lowered health/stamina bar, in case they got into another fight soon, they'd have less and less chance of winning.

might be easier to script.

or, you could look into the available combat systems and see if any can be adapted to have a ctf add on. or be an add on to ctf.... or.... something?

Exactly, I agree...not to reproduce another Quake or Doom CTF but unique to its own respects.....

That reminds me of "Jailbreak"....

That would be very good idea, there might be an existing combat system that can be adapted to CTF...

So this is actually being done between Clan on Samuari Island. I have played it with C:SI scripted weapons which are katanas. Basically there is a castle with each person guarding a flag. Both teams start at some distance and rush towards the Flag guards. If you encounter the enemy you engage in combat to the death of your avatar. Once you are killed you must fly up and out of the way of the other plays.

Very Kool game.

I have a new Role Play Sim that is based on Knights and castles. I just decided to plan some events on the weekend of the 14th. This would be a great addition to the list of activities we are planning. Here is the list of planning session dates I have /116/b4/233083/1.html. Anyone interested please drop by Rygeon 2024.

Interesting, but do you get the flag and take back to your base? Or you just touch? Will visit that LM soon....

You go to the enemy's flag base, and steal their flag.
However, if they steal yours you must get yours back to the flag spot before you can win.

You usually have to put the enemy's flag down three times to win the game, however this number varies.

On the HUD you would need to include things such as duck, dive, roll etc.
Would this be possible?

SHould be possible, its exactly how you say its played and can have different elements to gameplay and not just limited to how he flag is captured. However, the way I know CTF is how it was done in the classic FPS games such as UnrealTournament where opponents need to score by taking enemy flag and bringing it back to your base touching your flag. The HUD shows both teams scores and can be set to a number of flag wins and timing.

Its was a strategically fun game, you need to protect the flag carrier and it really took team work. Other fast action tricks included gravity/floating in air to get back to base fast...very fast action-packed....hardcore gameplay....even the addition to Instagib/One shot kill weapons, but you need great practice to be able to kill instantly...

Just in case anyone didn't already know this, Aubretec's C-TAG Laser Tag combat game includes a version of ctf although it's not as dynamic as normal ctf as the flag isn't actually mobile. (A huge oversight in my opinion.) However, if you're serious about creating this, the combat system it uses is called CERIX and pretty much anyone can become a developer and get a devkit to create their own weapons.

That isn't the traditional CTF, and to be honest I think I would find that version very boring myself.

We use Spell Fire weapons and not guns - swords only. So this is a very tradtional Capture the flag game. Fight your enemy, when your meter dies your out of the game. The one that gets to the other's flag first wins.

Are you using Cerix? If not, which ctf game system are you using? Where can I get?
