Hello everyone = )

I am wondering if anyone knows...is there a Vampire RP group that is currently active that is true RP and does not involve combat or keeping point scores and whatnot?

The one I belonged to has disbanded and from what I can tell, the ones that are active and popular are combat-related. I am looking for a social RP that is structured, but doesn't require me to fight or roll dice. (smile)

Thanks.

i don't really consider Midian a vampire-city... though it's dark enough to be one, it's based on Sin City/Blade Runner... and the streets are too downtown tokyo for other kinds of vamp's

like Anne Rice vamp's, for example, where a more appropriate setting would be Rio or New Orleans... or even Joss Whedon vamp's (Sunnydale/downtown LA)

LOL, well if it didn't require so much work Ina, I would consider it. I just want to go somewhere and play with no responsibility. *wink*

Dim, yes I have visited all of these places. The only one that doesn't include any organized combat to my knowledge is Transylvania. I really like the feel and energy of Transylvania, but the people who "play" there are not friendly to outsiders I have discovered. They are a very tight group. I used to visit there all the time (my alt) and never really felt welcome to be honest. It seems you have to already know someone in the group to be welcomed into it.

Which Sim do you run?

I run toxia.. Combat there is Optional and there to only enhance RP. the combat system even has a noncombative mode. Most of our associations are new player friendly. and we have a dedicated story teller staff whos main jobs is to produce storys and get the players involved in the epic events that go on in toxia.

I mean just last week the main bar got blown up (yes that part ofthe build ended up in ruins and flames).

We strive to be dynamic.. Though toxia may not be for everyone. But your more than welcome to try.

Transylvania is more of a "socializing" sim than an "RP" sim.

Dim,

Actually that sounds pretty fun - lol. I will visit again and stay longer this time. *wink*

Tod, you're right. I realized that after visiting several times. I went there to dance until I began to feel like I was intruding.

Nah, you're never intruding there. ;) It was the first place in this crazy land where someone actually started talking to me. Been going there ever since.

When I'm hanging around there, if some new folks pop-in & stay a while, I'll usually try to get them talking with the rest of us.

If people there seem rather quiet, they're usually in IM's with each other or someone else or just AFK.

Gets kinda tough at times with everybody talking.

Sunscreen.

I got pretty bored there, though. Never seemed to be anyone around in character, and didn't allow furries, so yeah. Pretty much lost me on both.

Laz,

Sunscreen was the RP that I enjoyed which disabanded. The sim owner (lycan) decided to take another direction and us Vamps were essentially booted. But, for awhile it was good, most of the IC action took place in the late hours of the evening. Actually we were just beginning to take off story-wise and then we got the boot. (lol) Murphy's law I guess.

For actual Roleplay without alot of rules and required stuff...really no requirements at all..Midian works best. It's where i am.

Toxia..I LOVE the place..the feel, just about everything about it. Only reason i dont' hang out there...is because it just doesn't seem real. In midian, orphans run around, the nightbreeders hang out on the roofs and behind the church. whores, street performers, dance clubs, and bars. Everything has life. And for the most part..people stick to thier roles.

In toxia i havn't been able to go that far into it. But from what i've seen, if your okay with the more combat oriented feel but still want that "real" roleplay. it's best. Midian doesn't really have combat often. it's more...relaxed.

And if your curious, I play an orphan in Midian. Been trying to find other good roleplay cities where orphans or other street kids can work out to their delight..can't find any. -.-

Thank you for the info Simba. I will definately be stopping by Midian then. Went by Toxia last night, you're right - the feel of the place is amazing. I am ready to explore both!
