Hello all. I'm developing my next game for SL called Tank Siege (TS). It plays a little like team fortress but you are in tanks. There are 4 tank types to pick from: scout, engineer, battle, and sniper. Each tank has widely different attributes, two weapons, and a special ability. The tanks level up as you gain resource points by killing the enemy and by capturing and holding resource zones. The battlefields also have special places for engineer tanks to make various things such as laser fences, bridges etc.
I have finished the main game engine, three of the tanks, and two small test battlefields. I could use some experienced gamers (especially combat gurus) to help me test what I have made so far for bugs and to give feedback. The game is probably too far along for huge changes, but small changes based on comments are certainly doable. I especially need to test the balance of stats between the different tank types. If you would like to help... or better yet know a small group of people who may want to try it out, please contact me in game. I'll send you a player's manual and perhaps we can try some test games this weekend.
Thank you.

Update: I have completed all four tank types and hope to run some beta tests Sunday around noon to find bugs and fine tune the balance between the tanks. I have already discovered that I made the sniper a bit too strong So I will be fixing that this morning. If anyone wants to swing by it will be in Oz. Next thing on the to do list is to make some larger battlefields. The current test field is only 100 x 100 meters.
Thanks to all those who have helped me with testing so far. Many had some great tweaking ideas.

Final Update:
Beta testing for TS should conclude this weekend. I have events Saturday at 11:00 and Sunday at 12:00 scheduled in Oz. After that I will make final tweaks, create a bunch of maps, and hopefully have it up for sale around the end of summer.
I have recently added two large maps, created a feature for automatic map rotation at the end of the game (owner can create a battlefield play list), and a cool one way force field that engineer tanks can build that allows friendlies to pass through but enemies bounce off and take damage.
If you'd like to join the TS testing group or would like me to send you a player's manual, please send me an IM in world. Thank you.

New Tank Battle Game!
08-17-2007 18:15
Hi All, Just wanted to post a note about htis really fun new game Spankme Pnkerton is developing in the sim: oz , it looks to be a really fun and entertaining battlefield game alive with a wide variety of strategies. The tanks are fun and easy to drive and include a free hud for turret control, ammo amounts and special weapons control (after a team takes control of a resource zone or three for added bonus features to be enabled for the team) The game involves several different strategies utilizing several different tank types and approaches. The main goal is to capture the set anount of Resource zones without allowing the enemy to regain them (resource zones being captureed by mearly being within 10 meters of it allowing one to also protect one's hindside from incoming enemy tanks) secondary objectives involve building various defensive barriers and shields along with yet to be determined devices for increasing the gaming fun. The game play is very fluid from the begining - simply select a tank type of the 4 Beta units and hop in! Reading instructions before gameplay is recommended. Once in your new tank of choice, HUD worn, you are off to capture your first Resource zone and ofcoarse blast enemies along the way each tank operates the same but each tank has seperate capabilities from the others, one os a spy tank with speed and disguise as enemy tank. one is an engineer that can build walls and force fields, another is a brute for animal tank to take out several smaller enemies at once. Oh, did I meantion the game has a sophisticated level traking / incrementing system, the better you are at the game, the more bonus energy you recieve and and the more powerful your tank becomes. The Game itself is very detailed over all, however, like any well written game interface, those details unfold for you transparently as you simply play the game and become better at shooting, dodging and capturing resource energy towers. Te tank battle fileds in theis system are designed to changed also as any good game would to prevent boredom of the same map over and over. The battlefileds themselves are modular and rez automatically upon user selection to offer a variety of sizes and types of fields. In the future, we are promised alternative Tank units offering different capabilities based on the current map. Well, I cant say enough about this smooth playing fun and challenging game other than, wow, its so new, we need Players! please come and play at our beta testing games on the weekends! I would like to invite anyone that enjoys Wolfenstein, Half Life Team Fortress or games of this type to try the team based Tanks battle. Look forward to seeing you all there! Thanks SpankMe !!
