"The earth shall be ruined and tainted by man, as the mould it to their own twisted will. Both the earth and mankind itself shall bend." - Terranum Bible, Book VII, Chapter II

Chapter I, Man's Disharmony

Terranum, a planet green a thriving, full of plants and wildlife, the jewel of the star system, or so it once was, before the Terrana took hold of it. Terrana, the general term for the humanoid creatures that lived on the planet.
Ingenious, intelligent, and creative, they could use the planet's resources to create nearly anything they put their mind to. The species advanced quickly, technology growing in leaps and bounds. However, this use of the planet would not go without its costs, and those would be higher than ever fathomed or could have been calculated by their technology.
It took drastic events for people to notice. Perhaps it was the sudden deaths of some Terrana, choking on the very air they breathed, or the mutations that began springing up, or perhaps both, but eventually their hand was forced to make changes. Though in a way the changes were too late. The planet continued to suffer, as did the Terrana and other species living there. So in a drastic decision, genetic research was started upon the Terrana species, to attempt to create a new and stronger subspecies, one planned to replace the Terranna in time.

"And as the earth bends and mankind with it, in these sufferings, the children of the stars shall be bourne. A new light for the world shall be created." - Terranum Bible, Book VII, Chapter II

Chapter II, The Forging of a Species

How does one go about making your successor species? This was something new to the Terrana needless to say, but their own was dying, it seemed this was a race for adaptation. The cost of losing; The death of the planet and all things living on it.
It was decided that space would be the best location to hold these tests, far from the taint of the earth of Terrana. Stations and ships were used and sent out into the galaxy, orbitting colonies and other world, and the best possible minds placed upon the project. Minor genetic manipulation had been done before, all part of the Terrana's need to control everything around them, but never anything of this level.
Early progress was slow, with little to show for the efforts, and the Terrana were hurried needless to say. Strange lifeforms were created, often subhuman and lacking intelligent thought, only to die quickly. The Terrana even went as far as to experiment on their own kind in hopes of perhaps being able to use gene therapy to reach their goal, though, this usually merely resulted in mutation or even death. Such a waste of life could be considered cruel by most onlookers, but to the Terrana, it was overlooked as a necessity.
Finally a breakthrough, the genetic mapping became clearer, and the first new life was born. Hope seemed within grasp finally, and tests continued, further refining the genetic traits that would make the new species. High intelligence, better lung capacity for dealing with bad air, and psychokinetic abilities. Finally the species was born, the Terrana's saviour.
They were dubbed, the Astrala, those created and born in the stars. Those created to bring back the light of hope to the world. They seemed to exceed all of the Terrana's expectations. With but a whim they could move things with their minds, so powerful that their abilities seemed similar to that of magic spoken of in old Terranum stories. They could pull water from the air, and do manipulate it, even freezing it. They could move the wind itself, or collide the air together to create heat or lightning if they so chose. They were physically weak as a whole however, losing energy quickly when on their own, requiring a recovery period, watched over by the Terrana.
Needless to say, many began to fear that which they did not understand, that which was different. Before long, the plans for the Terrana shifted; Shifted to something far darker.

Its a RP sim *smiles* due to open soon . THought I wuold get the background out first hehe.
heres chapter Three

"The new light would burn quickly and then fade. The light of the children of the stars would be hidden by man, blinding themselves with the power." - Terranum Bible, Book VII, Chapter II

Chapter III, Blinded With Power

As fears spread, the project was taken over by the Terrana's military powers, shifting from a rescue project, to that of a weapon. It was clear the Astrala had amazing power, but how could it be used?
It was discovered that the Astrala's powers could be used to make a human stronger, giving them more agility, and even mild psychokinetic abilities. When working with a human, the Astrala themselves were found to gain more stamina. The reason why was unknown, nor did it matter at the time, it was overlooked, as was often the case in the Terrana's method of doing things.
Soon the young Astrala were placed into the planet's military service. They were used as tools by the Terrana. They were forced to fight one another, honing their skills for nothing more to killing. Some Astrala tried to peacefully resist, wishing not kill, to have a choice, but their was none for them. They were destroyed, thrown away like the resources of the planet Terranum.
When used without free will, without a choice, one becomes little more than a tool in the hands of one's manipulator, and though the Astrala had thoughts and feelings, they were denied the right to express them. So as tools the Terrana used the Astrala, expendable fighters and soldiers in conflicts.
Some Terrana felt this was wrong and protested, but their voices were largely ignored. They wished to live in peace with the Astrala, and the Astrala did in return. They were largely ignored however, and some where just merely indifferent to things, continuing in their lives just as they had. So, the use of the Astrala continued.
Before long however, the Astrala began to resent the Terrana for what they did to them, wishing for what should have been theirs from the start, freedom. Though now, they began to wonder if perhaps more costly measures were allowable to obtain their freedom, that which was denied them.
